Kimiko had moved into the apartment above mine last month. She was a shy, petite woman, who was always surrounded by an aura of sadness. It was difficult not to notice her, especially when she passed by me every morning as I threw out my garbage. With her loose-fitting clothes and exposed chest, she seemed so vulnerable and defenseless. I couldn’t help but stare at her as she walked by, and I knew I wasn’t the only one.
She had become a part of my daily routine, and I found myself looking forward to seeing her. However, every day she would let out a deep sigh, lost in her own thoughts, and my heart would ache for her. I wanted to know more about her, to understand the sadness that seemed to consume her. But I knew she was married to someone else, and my feelings for her only continued to grow.
